Established since 1989, Groundco is a sister company of Guildford Construction, a family-run business that started over 55 years ago with the Director’s Father. We are a Building contractor, Groundwork and civil engineering contractor based in Godalming, Surrey the South East of England. We work as a subcontractor for our Clients, although we also operate as a principal and package Contractor. We operate closely with sectors, including commercial, retail, education, infrastructure, highways and for local authorities, defence, custodial, the Police, NHS and public-owned organisations.

We partner with our Clients from an early stage, assisting them to plan and programme the works efficiently. During our pre-construction phase, we also assist our Clients with value engineering and buildability exercises.  Once we commence on site, our own in-house managers and engineers ensure that the projects are carried on time, to budget, safely.

This ethos has led to continued repeat business from clients such as Countryside/Vistry Construction, Wates Construction, Shanley Homes. The company turnover is   £2.5 million a year, with projects ranging from £50,000 to £10 million in value.  We have operated under various forms of contract, including  JCT, NEC and bespoke client forms of contracts.
