HOW TO PREPARE FOR EXCAVATING ?
To carry out any excavating, you have to;
- SURVEYING - Survey the area to dig, look up any flood and water tables on the local geographic planning portals
- SERVICES - Request any gas, electric, or water services on the land
- CAT SCAN - Scan the ground with a CAT scanner (a handheld device that you can hire)
- INSURANCE - Make sure the contractor has the necessary cover, just in case issues arise.
- WATER TABLES - if you hit water, keep the excavation pumped at all times.

Excavator sizes and types used for our Groundworks
Mini Diggers from 0.8t to 2.8t, ideal for tight and restricted projects, can come with standard buckets, 450mm, 650mm and a ditching bucket. Can be fitted with a hydraulic breaker, forestry and demolition grabs etc.

Unlike some contractors, H&S is not taken seriously. We have seen many instances where the site team have little or no PPE. GroundCo are fully trained in health and safety and ensure toolbox talks and the correct PPE is used.
